Personal shrines and altars are re-emerging in the world as both an expression and a tool for the artist's connection to their creative process. Personal shrines serve as a place to reconnect with ourselves and our creative spirit. The arts provide a special path to connect to self and to the Holy. Creating a personal shrine opens a space for inner rejuvenation, a way to see below the surface, and to bring forth a new vision from a wellspring of personal imagery.
We will learn to connect with our playful spirit as our daily companion. We will be creating personal shrines with the use of collage and imagery materials. We will use the process of movement and writing to make clear the space in our bodies where the creative dialogue occurs.
In a supportive and nurturing environment partcipants will learn to: recognize the critic and cultivate a non-judgemental attitude; identify strategies that integrate our creative expression in the mind, body and spirit; integrate creative arts into daily life, and renew enthusiasm and energy in our artistic expression.
Please bring a small Xacto knife and 7 - 10 interesting magazines to share for collage images.
